Major Medicare Advantage carriers pulling out of NJ for 2017

The 2017 Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are now officially released, it was announced that Geisinger Gold and Amerihealth will not renewing their Medicare Advantage plans and Aetna Value members losing coverage too.  It is estimated up to 25,000 NJ seniors will be getting termination letters this week and will need to find another plan for 2017.  Geisinger Gold is currently partnered up with the Meridian Healthcare system and the Aetna Value plan was a very popular choice these past years for Ocean County members.  It is estimated over 2500 Ocean county seniors will be losing their Geisinger Gold plan and thousands more will be losing their Aetna Value plan.  It is important to note Aetna is working with their members to "map" them over to another plan so this will cause much less disruption than those with Geisinger Gold and Amerihealth.  2017 plans can now be found on www.medicare.gov.
